Celebrating a friend’s birthday at DaNico was a superlative experience in dining: delicious and surprisingly dishes, attentive yet friendly staff, in a bold but comfortable interior. Our server, Ashley, was smart and a whole lot of fun, guiding our menu choices and how we might enjoy each course. One of the best meals I’ve had, ever!
Absolutely exceptional restaurant. From the moment you enter through the old church doors, the atmosphere feels transportive like dining at a top spot in Italy. Every dish was phenomenal, and the wine pairing lifted the whole meal even further. Service was attentive and gracious from start to finish. This place is a true gem in Toronto. DaNico is one of the top ranked restaurants in Canada and that’s for a good reason. The restaurant has a pleasant decor with knowledgeable and attentive staff worthy of Michelins star and of course the tasting menu was exceptional with delicious and innovative dishes that are pleasant to the eye, nose and tongue. The staff is also very accommodating to dietary restrictions even a few last minute requests of my party. Only detractor is that the restaurant had a constant smokey smell from the grilling in the kitchen. Nevertheless definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or when you feel like splurging on a meal.
Had an incredible experience at Danico. Our server( the short, confident Asian lady) was absolutely hilarious and kept the jokes rolling the entire night. I can’t for the life of me, remember her name but she made the dinner so fun and memorable, and her recommendations were spot on. It’s so refreshing to have someone bring that kind of warmth and humor in a fine dining setting. The black truffle pasta she suggested was 100/10 . Completely blew my mind. Rich and perfectly balanced. The black cod was another hit, easily a 10/10, buttery and cooked to perfection. Between the food and the service, this place nails it on all fronts. Can’t wait to come back just for that pasta.

Dinner was fantastic! Excellent service! We celebrated a friend’s birthday. Was the perfect spot for such an occasion. The table we were seated at was semi private near a cellar wall. Was a pleasure to meet DaNico’s top chef, Daniele Corona. Also took a quick tour of the restaurant and of the 2nd wine cellar which is a repurposed bank vault. It was our third visit here. This time we did the MasterCard Priceless Restaurant Experience. Looking forward to our next visit!
We spent our anniversary there and it was so much fun! The staff was great and everyone was really excited to be celebrating our anniversary with us. The food was delicious. Every dish was the best thing I've ever tasted. I especially loved the pasta dish and the wagyu steak. The desserts were amazing as well. One of the best restaurants we've ever been to!
A very well-deserved Michelin star! We had the 3-course meal, which truly felt like a 5-course experience. Every dish flowed beautifully into the next — from the amuse-bouche to dessert, there was an effortless harmony and balance. The plates managed to be both complex and simple at the same time: elegant presentation, thoughtful ingredients, and flavors that were adventurous yet deeply comforting. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable — not only about the food but also the wine. They could tell you about the region the wine came from, the history behind it, and even the story of the ingredients on your plate. You can see right into the kitchen — it’s spotless, full of life, and the team moves like a well-orchestrated performance. The timing of each dish was impeccable. The Wagyu beef was probably one of the best things I’ve ever tasted — melt-in-your-mouth perfection. I also appreciated that the focus was entirely on flavor and craft rather than on over-the-top theatrics that often accompany fine dining. The caviar was top-notch — exquisite for those who love it. And the dessert… absolutely divine. I usually don’t eat white chocolate, but somehow the texture and balance made it all work perfectly.
